Hello kids ,I'm writing this to hopefully clear some things up.First off this is not really my column, I will be writing that at another time. I have noticed there has been some confusion over a show that is taking place in Little Rock, Arkansas. It has been billed as a WWF/TWA event. That is not correct. It is only a TWA event. I am doing a co-promotion with another gentleman and will be providing the first five matches with stars from the TWA. It is a TWA event because I am the sole promoter of the show. The last two matches are being supplied by the other gentleman and to be perfectly honest I have absolutely no idea what or who they are at this time.I am however the referee in the main event. Imagine that.
The other thing I would like to clear up is a recent rumor concerning my return to television. It has come to my attention that an Internet writer said the WWF has been in touch with me and asked me to do a few shots. Not true. I have not been contacted by anyone. This individual also implied that I have been turning down the request of the WWF because of wanting to spend time with my family. He also implied that other wrestlers do not feel I am earning my money.
Since I have had my surgery I have never once turned down an offer to appear at any time. I am very fortunate to be allowed to spend a great deal of time with my family. My family supports everything that I do and would always want me to do the best job that I could for the company that has been so good to me. I am also very lucky to have co-workers who believe I have earned everything that I get.
>p> You probably won't hear many people in this business admit to this but the fact of the matter is the WWF rarely asks me for my time. They either, do not have the need or the spot for Shawn Michaels, it's really that simple. I am more than willing to go back to work anytime someone asks.
For what it's worth, I am in the best shape I have been in since the surgery. I am training five days a week and am back on my regular (the healthy one) diet. The back feels great and I am tipping the scales at a fairly lean 218. I say fairly because I am at about 12% body fat. Not too bad for an old man. Whadda ya say to just one more match? Just wondering.
See ya for now,
Shawn
