The son of an Air Force Pilot, Michael Shawn Hickenbottom was born at Williams Air Force Base in Chandler, Arizona on July 22, 1965. Colonel Richard Hickenbottom's career, flying T33, T39, F94, F89 and F4 aircraft, jetted his family around the globe, from Arizona to Maryland to England to Iowa and, ultimately, to San Antonio, Texas.
